Rotary District 5550 has assigned Sandra Hrášková of Bernolakovo near Bratislava, Slovakia to the Dryden Club as its 2015-2016 Rotary Exchange student. This is the first time Dryden has had an exchange student from an East European country.
Sandra is sponsored by District 2240 and the Rotary Club of Bratislava. Bratislava is the capital of Slovenia and has a population of nearly 500,000. Bernolakovo is a small suburb of just 6000 about 5 km to the east. It is home to Slovenia's first modern golf course which opened in 1993.
Sandra attends Spojena Skola Gymnáziu Jura Hronca. She studies 13 subjects at school: Slovak, English, German Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Arts & Culture, Information Technology, Physical Education and Ethics. Classes run for 45 minutes with 5 to 15 minute breaks.

In her free time Sandra likes to train kids and young adults in artistic gymnastics. She also judges competitions. Sandra attends drum classes and is passionate about music. To relax she reads books, watches TV, and like to hang out with her friends in coffee shops.
Sandra has her own bedroom because she is an only child. It takes her about 30 minutes to get to school by car and about an hour by bus which includes a 15 minute walk to the bus stop.

As an exchange student Sandra hopes to become familiar with a new culture, learn a new language and broaden her horizons. She eventually would like to attend university abroad in Czech Republic, England, America or South Korea.
Her Mom, her primary care giver, says she is proud of the person Sandra has become and describes her as “kind, genuine, social active, and popular” while being “reliable and trustworthy”. She was a great support while her mother studied at university.
