Morgan Shepherd first winner with Little Mod Nest idea

Michelle Price from the Dryden Chamber of Commerce provided a wrap up on their “Win this Space” competition and introduced us to Morgan Shepherd the winner.
The competition had 14 entries. The two finalists, Morgan Shepherd of Little Mod Nest and Garth Gillis of Canoe Brewing each pitched their proposed business, before 5 judges at the Centre.

Although there was only one winner, Price expects that some additional contestants will likely go ahead with their business plans.

Michelle introduces Morgan to Club
Morgan has just signed a lease for 26 Earl Ave., the former site of Willie Cheslock’s office. She plans to open by mid-January and is currently ordering fabric and acquiring equipment and painting new space.

She is now going public with her business of baby clothing that is all made from organic material. Until now, she has been doing her sewing at home but with children 5, 3,
and 1, she needs a child-free space. During her first year, she plans to operate without any employees until she sees how well sales increase.

As the winner of the “Win this Space” contest Morgan will receive $1000 a month for 12 months from the chamber to assist with her rent.
