https://clubrunner.blob.core.windows.net/00000000986/Stories/07d1b9e6-19d2-44f3-bd9d-14ee875d6743.jpgRtn Joanne Misner, at the Dryden Regional Health Services Foundation (DRHSF), October 25th, Ultrasound Campaign kickoff presented a cheque for $25,000 to campaign chair Andrew Skene on behalf of the Rotary Club of Dryden. Funds for this cause were raised through the Club’s weekly Rotary Radio Bingo effort of which Misner is the organizer.

Three Dryden Lions clubs also made presentations. 
Rick Hall of the Dryden Lions Club presented a cheque for $10,000 plus another $5,000 bequest on behalf of recently decreased member John Gillian. Susan Hutchison of the Vermilion Bay Lions Club contributed $5,000, while Wendy Wiedenhoeft of the Dryden Trillium Club added another $10,000. The three clubs also applied to Lions International and were successful in acquiring a matching grant of $25,000 from that source.

DRHSF Board chair Rtn Bob Stevens who before coming to Dryden had been a Lions Club member thanked all in attendance on behalf of the Board. Rtn Angie Bujold of the hospital staff then cut a cake in celebration. 

According the health Centre CEO. Wade Petranick the Province of Ontario does not fund equipment purchases beyond $500.00 so communities must raise the funds themselves. Foundation administrator Chuck Schmidt told us another $20,000 in private contributions have been received so an additional $80,000 must be raised through the community.

The machine demonstrated by video is a portable Philips DH 100 Ultrasound machine with High Definition color 3D/4D imaging. It has superior tissue Doppler imaging and is great for all major clinical applications.
