Hoshizaki House for Abused Women Sparks Interest

Allyson Coogan - Executive Director gave us a PowerPoint presentation explaining the function and history of Hoshizaki House.
Hoshizaki House operates a transition shelter for abused women and their children which provide the following services:
Hoshizaki House & Maple Court is governed by a Board of Directors and obtains most of its core funding from the Ministry of Community and Social Services.
The main building housing Hoshizaki House is almost a hundred years old and has structural problems.....so the organization is urging the Ministry to provide funds that would allow a new 14 bed shelter to be built.
- Counselling and a safe and supportive environment for abused women and children;
- Second stage housing known as Maple Court where these women and children can live before going back in to the community;
