Dryden's new police chief Doug Palson was our feature speaker at our June 8th meeting. 
 
Chief Palson was raised in the Interlake area in Manitoba, is of Metis descent, and is a graduate of the University of Manitoba and Brandon University.
 
He has 30 years of law enforcement experience, most of it with Brandon and 7 years
with Dakota.
 

Approach to Policing

The cornerstone principles upon which policing should exist according to Palson are respect , trust , and accountability".
 
Palson believes in partnering with various organizations and community bodies to deliver the service with as many supports as necessary for the individuals who come into contact with police.
 
The chief spoke of the seven seeds of policing: Leadership, Knowledge, Creativity,  Problem Solving, Diversity, Force control, Community.Althey Although they already exist, his role is to support and make make then grow.
 
Doug Palson concluded by saying he is glad to be here and thanked Rotary for the support of the winter camp run by Denise Szachury this past March.
