“Still Me” is a program developed by the Oncology Unit of the Dryden Regional Health Centre, “created from the concept that if a person living with cancer can be helped to look good, their improved self-image will help them to approach cancer and its treatment with greater confidence.”

The program is funded entirely by the monies raised by the local Kinsmen Club through their annual Dragon Boat Races. This year the Kinsmen raised $15,000.00 for the cause.  Still Me

Cathy West and Jen Nesbitt from the Dryden Regional Health Centre explained how they provide a free two hour workshop teaching men and women living with cancer how to look good and feel good. They also provide free personal care products and provide information on managing side-effects of cancer and its treatments. They’ve helped well over a hundred men and women since 2006.

Thanking Cathy and Jen is “Nurse” Mardi Plomp who dressed for the occasion to launch her “Hope in the City” fundraiser for cancer.
