The Rotary Club of Dryden provides financial support to the following international projects.
Global Polio Eradication

Rotary’s most notable current global project, PolioPlus, is contributing to the global eradication of polio.

Rotary has been working to eradicate polio for more than 30 years and our goal of ridding the world of this disease is closer than ever.

As a founding partner of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, we've reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent since Rotary’s first project to vaccinate children in the Philippines in 1979.

ShelterBox

ShelterBox’s vision is to see a world where no family is without shelter after disaster.

ShelterBox is an official project partner with Rotary International, and Rotarians around the world help ShelterBox to connect with local communities more quickly when disaster strikes.

Ripple Effect

Ripple Effect’s purpose is to provide opportunity to children living in challenging environments in Guatemala through promoting literacy and education.

It focuses on kindergarten to grade 6 and providing scholarships for Middle and High School students.

Since the inception of the Ripple Effect program in 1999 over 85 schools have been built in poor rural areas.

The Ripple Effect Program in Guatemala is the first international world community service program ever developed in District 5550.

The Amarok Society Schools of Bangladesh

The Amarok Society is a Canadian charity that has created a low-cost way to provide literacy education in urban slums in the cities of Dhaka, Khulna and Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh. They rent a one-room slum dwelling and supply all of the materials and a paid teacher. They offer the program to mothers who, in turn, must agree to teach five children, either their own or their neighbour's.
