ImagePaul Harris (1868-1947)  founded Rotary International, a service organization that has over a million members word wide.  An award in his name is given to those who contributed more than $1000.00 to the Annual Program Fund, the Polio Plus Fund or the Humanitarian Grant Program of the Rotary Foundation.

 

Additionally local Rotary Clubs, through their contributions can sponsor and honour Imageindividuals who meet high professional standards and personal standards. On May 15th, 2013 at the annual Paul Harris dinner, Gerrie Noble was honoured with a Paul Harris Fellow award for his long time contribution of keeping the history of Dryden in the forefront through his books and his column in the Dryden Observer.

 

ImageCommunity members, Barb Buffet, Lynn Carlson and Sue Schultz received a Paul Harris Fellow award for their involvement in the Dryden Mayor’s Committee for Children and Youth. Together this trio worked tirelessly to establish a youth centre for teens, expansion of services for children and youth in crises and a campaign to promote antiviolence and positive self-esteem.
