In the absence of President Mardi, Assistance Governor Carl Eisner, took the meeting chair and proceeded to share future meeting dates and events of which we should be aware. 
No announcement was more important than when Rtn. Carl announced that Immediate Past President, Barry Rassin will be the feature speaker and attend the full District 5550 Conference in Kenora, on May 21 -24 2020. 

A Tri-Club (Rotary Clubs from Sioux Lookout, Dryden and Kenora) meeting will occur on Saturday November 16th in Dryden. The morning will be a business meeting, while the afternoon will be professional development session.  A social is being planned for the Friday evening before the visit. 

The District 5550 District Governor will visit on Oct 2nd. He will be our feature speaker for that day' lunch meeting.  In the evening  Rotarians and their friends are invited to attend a 5:30 pm dinner with DG Fred at Riverview Lodge. Please contact Carl if interested.

On Sept 26th the Consul General for Japan will be the feature speaker for the Kenora Rotary at 6:30 pm. Meetings are at Clarion Hotel in Kenora.

Rtn Patty V mentioned that the club has completed an update to its harassment policy.  It is being circulated among members and will be voted on at next wee's meeting.. Patty also shared some ideas on how the Rotary Club can possibly support a Youth Centre.

If we have ideas for meeting programs please share them with Rtns Istvan or Patty. Also a remainder that the Music and Paul Harris Awards evening is scheduled for the Centre on October 23rd. 

Rtn. Kris will be choosing the next outbound exchange student in early October and needs two additional Rotarians to sit in on the interviews.

Rtn Ed has made arrangements with Virginia at Mallons (31 King St ) if you want to have the Dryden Rotary logo on your clothing.  If you want other Rotary apparel , go to club website and click on the Russell Hampton ad and then look for the Canadian flag and click on it . Then let Ed know what you want to order. He will consolidate the order and get a reduced freight cost. Those wishing the new design name badges should also contact Ed. 

Some additional miscellaneous announcements were (a) Rtn. Lisa is looking for potential curlers for Rotary curling team; (b) the Rotary Christmas party is on December 11th at the Centre; (c) there are no Rotary meetings on Dec 24th and 31st; and (d) the evening meetings will continue until March 2020.
