Laina Smith spoke to Rotarians on her vision of a holding a Fall Fest in Dryden each October. She has rallied a small committee of seven citizens to organize the event.
Smith was raised in the USA where there were such events every fall and she would
like to start something similar in Dryden.

Liana outlined the following components of the Fall Fest she envisions:

Events in or around the Laura Howe Marsh;

  • Saturday, October 17th would see a “family harvest fest” from noon to 3 PM. possibly on or near Government dock;
  • October 24th from 6:30 to 8:30 PM there would be a Laura Howe Haunt in the Marsh;
  • October 31st from 5:00 to 6:00 PM people would assemble in the Laura Howe Marsh parking lot, decorate their trunk and pass out candy.

At present, there are seven committee members and they are trying to get permissions and support to the events

Smith hopes Rotarians can spread word of the event throughout the community. Once events have been confirmed and approved they will be seeking support in th form of volunteers and sponsorship from the club.

The Best Western has already donated $100 to the club for the event.
