Each of the Rotary Youth Leadership Award (RYLA) students gave us a brief account of their impressions of their RYLA experience.

L-RWords such as “meeting new friends” and “life changing” came up in more than one speech.

Other comments to describe the camp included “really friendly staff” and “ best week of my summer”.

Collectively the students indicated that they learned leadership skills while having fun.

North Richter has enjoyed it so much that this was his third time at RYLA

Perttu, Dryden’s exchange student from Finland also got to go and indicated it helped orientate him to Canada. He also said that the free time that they had was also a wonderful learning experience

At the end of their presentation, the group thanked Rotary and indicated that they wanted to fundraise to buy a Shelterbox....an idea that the Club Executive had considered at a meeting the night before but had not yet broached with the students.
