Using a video link via Skype from the DHS Library to the new Tierral Blanca school in El Asintal, Guatemala that the Dryden Rotary club helped build through the "Schools Building Schools" program in Dryden High School was the topic at the Clubs May 9th, meeting.

Members and student viewed washrooms, classrooms, a kitchen and a playground by the Rotarian host in El Asintal

SBS plaque recipientsRotary member Peter Keen says the club and DHS students conducted a fundraising campaign last year to raise nearly $6,000 for the project. Five schools in the Kenora District took part in fundraising efforts and roughly $16,000 was brought in.

The video link gave everyone a chance to see what the money has accomplished.

The Club also presented Shae Richter, Brittany Ramsey, & Stephanie Woodworth with a plaque for the work done with Schools Building Schools to take this project to fruition.

Past President Peter Keen stressed it's great to see our youth get involved in International projects. This will be the third year of the campaign.
